Junior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant for a full-time role supporting METECS' Accounting team. This position involves applying financial regulationsincluding Cost Accounting Standards and GAAPto company processes, policies, and procedures. Under the guidance of the senior accountant, the Junior Accountant will help maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and contribute to various accounting functions.

The Junior Accountant will play a key role in daily accounting operations and financial analysis, supporting the Senior Accountant with the following responsibilities :

• Record and summarize financial transactions, update the general ledger, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions
• Assist with bank reconciliations to help identify and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and general ledger account analysis
• Prepare and analyze financial information in accordance with GAAP and other applicable regulations and accounting standards
• Contribute to daily accounting processes including journal entries
• Assist with monthly analysis of revenue, expenses, and budget variances across departments
• Generate routine and ad-hoc financial reports to support operational review and decision making
• Participate in special projects as requested
