Leo Tech LLC is a certified woman-owned small business started in 2015 by Melody Vansandt. She has over 24 years of experience working as a Defense Contractor and Consultant and has held positions as Director of Pricing, Contracts Manager, Program Manager, and EVM Manager.

We are currently seeking the following positions :

POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD

JOB TITLE :

TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE :

Plan, direct, or coordinate transportation, storage, or distribution activities per organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations.

Includes logistics managers.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Plan, organize, or manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished consistently with organizational requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
  • Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Monitor operations to ensure staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, environmental policies, or government regulations.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  • Prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes.
  • Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel.
  • Advise sales and billing departments of transportation charges for customers' accounts.
  • Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
  • Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Requires knowledge in transportation management.
  • Accountable for information systems such as, but not limited to,
  • Enhanced Transportation Operational Personal Property Standard System (eTOPS),
  • Defense Personnel Property Program (DP3),
  • Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES)and CMOS, or equivalent systems, should be integrated with ILS-S or equivalent systems .
  • The individual shall have a background in performing analysis, port capability, and capability forecasting for operating a contingency aerial port of embarkation / debarkation.
  • Active DoD clearance

EDUCATION :

High School or greater

EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum 6 years of experience.
  • Three (3) years of traffic management.
  • two (2) years of cargo movement.
  • One (1) year passenger travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Current and up-to-date DOT CDL, if required

Before an alcohol or drug test is administered, the applicant must sign a Leo Tech, LLC consent form authorizing the test and permitting the release of test results to the Medical Review Officer (MRO) and the designated Human Resources Representative.

Failure to sign the release or cooperate in test procedures shall be deemed a withdrawal of the employment application.
