Debt Collection Agency Manager

Position Summary
Responsible for managing PRA's relationships with Debt Collection Agencies including managing performance and first line control testing. Provide data-driven insights to enhance operations. Foster relationships with key stakeholders and support teams while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities encompass managing agency placement, recall, and inventory processes, ensuring data accuracy and communication alignment with control partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sourcing, onboarding, and management of Third-Party Collection Agencies
- Performs all responsibilities of a Vendor Relationship Owner as outlined in PRA Policy
- Manages agency performance to meet or exceed identified collection targets
- Develops and maintains Agency Performance and Control Reporting
- Responsible for the execution of all first line Agency Management testing and controls
- Ensures proper execution of agency placement, recall, and inventory management processes
- Ensures PRA systems are regularly updated with data, payments and notes detailing the actions taken at agency partners
- Maintains strong relationships with the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Team, Corporate Compliance and Corporate Audit Services (CAS) and ensure communication and control workflows are aligned between control partners
- Uses data and analysis to provide insight into business performance and suggests methods / strategies for improving operations; Makes recommendations to stakeholders and drives strategic initiatives to improve inventory processing
- Represents PRA at industry events and maintains the highest level of professionalism in all interactions
- Builds strong relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional support teams to identify business needs and trends and to develop and / or deliver a variety of solutions in support of the success of PRA's Agency Management Program
- Monitors and evaluates work quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned employees.
- Maintains expert knowledge of the Accounts Receivables Management Industry, processes, market conditions and regulatory changes
- Responsible for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility

Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or a demonstrable equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and / or work experience5-10 years of experience managing collections teams at a senior levelExperience identifying improvement opportunities, designing, and building processes and systems to achieve results, drive efficiencies and maintain robust complianceExcellent communication skills to include the ability to effectively present information and interact with senior leadersExperience navigating and negotiating contracts preferredAdvanced strategic, analytical, project management and leadership skillsAdvanced proficiency with Windows operating systemsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Visio, and Excel; experience with project management tools desiredAdvanced ability to handle multiple projects / tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlinesAdvanced ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issuesAdvanced ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and process documentsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of age, race, color, sex, gender, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, citizenship, or any other classes recognized by state or local law.
