OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, provides support for the Credit Union by determining the Credit Union's daily cash position at various institutions, performing financial analysis and reporting as directed.
ALM modeling of most likely situations and ratio analysis. Assists in month-end closing activities and monitors investment portfolio.
Continuously looks for opportunities to improve data process workflows and increase efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors Credit Union's liquidity needs and performs daily cash management..
- Participates with budgeting activities and monitors, analyzes, and reports variance data.
- Performs monthly expense analysis on key vendor invoices and reports findings.
- Performs asset liability management (ALM) processing and reporting.
- Compiles accurate financial reports, financial analyses, and forecasting reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis for management and the Board of Directors.
- Reviews and monitors credit lines and collateral to optimize lines.
- Monitors and reports on the Credit Union's investment portfolio to assure timely investment decisions and reports on investment status.
- Prepares Credit Union financial projections.
- Prepares reports as assigned or directed.
- Prepares NCUA Call Report.
- Serves as a resource to the Credit Union to review and improve data processes to increase efficiency. Works with the appropriate teams to implement improvements.
- Complies with all federal, state, and local legal requirements, regulatory requirements, and Sandia Area Federal Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
- Completes tasks with quality and accuracy, and within specified deadlines.
- Meets deadlines as assigned and directed.
- Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union’s mission and philosophy.
- Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
- Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established by Sandia Area Federal Credit Union and federal and state legal and regulatory guidelines, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as applicable to this position.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of accounting and accounting concepts.
- Basic understanding of investments and investment issues.
- Basic understanding of interest rate risk.
- Proficiency with Windows based software particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to set and meet priorities.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in finance / accounting or equivalent OR 5 years of experience in the accounting field OR similar combination of education and experience.
- General knowledge of credit union accounting operations desirable.
