Position Overview
A premier opportunity is available for a seasoned food service leader to join a major 900-bed hospital in the heart of Washington, DC. As General Manager 6 Food and Nutrition Services, you’ll oversee comprehensive food and nutrition operations including patient meal services, retail, doctors lounge, and catering for a flagship health system.
This role demands a results‑driven professional with experience in healthcare food services, client relationship management, and a passion for patient‑centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations for Food & Nutrition Services across multiple service lines.
- Lead high‑performing teams to achieve operational, financial, and service excellence.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable regulatory and food safety standards.
- Manage departmental budgets and align performance with client expectations.
- Drive service innovation and enhance the patient and guest experience.
- Foster strong nursing and medical team relationships to support quality outcomes.
- Mentor and develop managers and frontline staff to ensure team engagement and retention.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in healthcare food service.Demonstrated ability to lead complex operations, with a focus on retail, catering, and patient dining.Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (especially DC‑specific regulations).Proven ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets and deliver against KPIs.Skilled in team leadership, client engagement, and strategic planning.Effective communicator and collaborative leader with strong customer service focus.Preferred Attributes
