About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated General Manager 5 – Food Services to oversee food operations at our facility located at Washington, DC. The General Manager will lead patient dining, retail, and catering operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and experience managing in a unionized environment, with a passion for innovation and process improvement in healthcare food service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of patient meal services, retail dining, and catering across the hospital campus.
• Develop and maintain strong clients and stakeholder relationships, including collaboration with hospital executives and the C‑suite.
• Lead and mentor staff to promote engagement, teamwork, and service excellence.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, regulatory standards for food safety and quality.
• Drive process improvements, cost controls, and innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to meet company and client goals.
• Ensure high levels of patient and guest satisfaction through service excellence and proactive issue resolution.
• Promote training, staff development, and continuous improvement culture.
