This is a position funded through the Children, Youth and Families at Risk (CYFAR) grant program. A candidate in this position will work to build a 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador (HLA) Teen program in Maricopa County, working collaboratively with Tucson Village Farm.
In addition to building that program they will work with community partners to facilitate healthy living workshops, programming using the FARMacy Curriculum.

Duties & Responsibilities
4-H Healthy Living Ambassadors
- Provides leadership for and coordinates Maricopa Counties 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador team program, including recruiting youth, training and certifying volunteers, and creating community partners to help lead and facilitate 4-H Youth Development projects.
- Manages correspondence with teens and families in the 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador Program.
4-H Healthy Living Events
- Assists with coordinating and facilitating community designed healthy living programming, workshops and classes.
- Recruits, trains and monitors volunteers for programming
Grant Management
- Assists agent with grant over-site and management including writing reports, tracking participants and attending grant required meetings.
- Assists agent with finding and writing new grants to support programmatic efforts.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) :
- Ability to facilitate groups of teens in a variety of programs.
- Skill in public speaking and presenting to large groups.
- Knowledge of healthy living strategies and working within community based programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University .
