The Prevention Program Specialist provides direct prevention services for children and families at risk of entry into the foster care system or residential treatment facilities.

The Prevention Program Specialist employs wraparound services with a strength based, family-centered approach.

The Prevention Program Specialist works in various settings, such as schools, doctor / mental health offices, & family homes, in the community with children and families from a wide range of backgrounds.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human service field from an accredited school.

Experience / Skills :

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children and families in the direct delivery of social services in a public or private agency, preferably in foster care or adoption
  • Ability to creatively access community resources.

Schedule :

Hybrid-Remote Flexibility : The majority of your tasks will occur remotely or in the field, with 1-3 days designated for in-office responsibilities.

Essential Functions :

Continue to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family centered, connected to the community;

and which relies on evidence-based practice.

  • Coordinate aftercare and follow-up services for clients and their families.
  • Develop treatment plans that are individualized and created with families.
  • Complete thoughtful transition plans when families are ready to exit services.

Requirements :

  • Must be 21 years old to apply
  • Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid auto insurance
