Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management
- Record customer payments (checks, ACH, credit card, and wire transfers) promptly and accurately.
- Monitor customer accounts for delayed or irregular payments and follow up with collections efforts as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate AR aging reports and reconcile customer accounts.
- Investigate and resolve short payments, deductions, and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing or payment issues.
- Prioritize collection activities to optimize DSO.
- Make recommendations on bad debt reserves, process customer refunds, and handle tax payments.
- Maintain and review customer credit lines and prepare related management reports.
- Recommend and assist with process improvements to enhance AR efficiency.
Accounting & Reporting
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.Prepare documentation and schedules to support audits.Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP standards.Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.Prepare, analyze, and maintain sales reports.Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivable or general ledger.Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP).Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and strong data analysis abilities.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to perform ad hoc analyses or special projects as needed.Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and approval processes.Preferred Skills
Experience in collections or credit management.Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-currency accounting environments.Prior experience supporting audits and financial reporting.Work Environment

Technical Certification Bonus : Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
