HDR is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to support our global Control Systems practice, which offers comprehensive services including assessment, planning, design, automation programming, testing, commissioning, and maintenance across various industries. The primary focus of this role is to support the planning, design, and implementation of automated industrial control systems, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions for construction and deployment in sectors such as food & beverage, general industrial, oil & gas, logistics, manufacturing, mining, transportation, and water / wastewater.

The Control Systems Engineer will work under a Senior Control Systems Engineer to design complex control and SCADA systems, assist in equipment evaluation and selection, and produce accurate construction documents like drawings and specifications. The candidate should be self-motivated with a drive to deliver high-quality, technically sound control system designs.

Primary responsibilities include :

• Travel to client sites to assess and document existing control systems
• Participate in design review and planning meetings
• Develop preliminary engineering reports and control system improvement solutions
• Coordinate with electrical and process engineers on design requirements
• Assist in selecting and specifying process instrumentation and network equipment
• Create biddable, technically accurate SCADA / I&C construction documents
• Use CADD software like AutoCAD for document development and review
• Support system testing and commissioning activities
