Overview
Accounting Manager - Construction at GeoSurfaces. This role ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, entering, reviewing, and reconciling transactions. Works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate monthly closes and an adjustment-free year-end audit.
Responsibilities
- Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
- Manage Month End Close process by maintaining the chart of accounts and processing monthly journal entries in accordance to the Accounting Handbook.
- Review expenses and variances monthly. Analyze any unusual amounts and report to management.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis - Work closely with CFO to prepare internal reporting documents analyzing revenue, margin, and variances to budgets / forecasts. Attend monthly internal meetings to present to various departments within the organization.
- Cash Management - reconcile cash on a daily / weekly basis and provide daily cash positions as well as cash forecasts.
- With CFO, lead annual budget process by interacting cross functionally to create buy in from all leaders while maintaining integrity of the financials.
- Recommend and implement procedures to improve the system and make the analysis of information easier and more concise.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
- Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Establish cost saving measures.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and metrics.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting.5-7 years of accounting experience; construction experience required.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred.Vendor and customer reconciliations experience.Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be a team player.Work Environment
Temperature controlled office.Regular and predictive attendance is mandatory.Physical Demands
