Community Development Specialist

Are you passionate about strengthening neighborhoods and helping communities thrive? NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania (NWNEPA) is seeking a Community Development Specialist to help design, implement, and manage programs that make a lasting impact across our region.

As a key member of our Community Development team, you'll work on a variety of projects in West Scranton-from neighborhood revitalization and community cleanups to resident engagement and grant-supported initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, organized professional who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and community connection.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Public Administration, Social Work, Community Development) or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of experience managing community, nonprofit, or program-based projects from planning through execution.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and funding sources is preferred.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) proficiency is a plus.
