What to Expect
The Manager, Data Governance Lead is focused on leveraging all of our data assets to optimize our financial and regulatory reporting capabilities, increase profitability, promote data driven decision-making, and enhance data policies and standards. This position is focused on ensuring consistent data quality; establishing data standards and governance; integrating data both operationally and analytically; ensuring consistency of metrics across reporting functions; and certifying data used for local and external regulatory reporting, remediation, external board reporting, policy, and process decisions. This position collaborates with Data Stewards and decision makers for specific data assets within the company. This position is responsible for gathering and documenting metadata, improving data quality, analyzing process controls, completing root cause analysis and coordinating activities related to problem resolution.
What You Will Do
1. Use a process-driven approach to identify Critical data elements (CDEs) that drive key business activities
2. Identify data quality issues and their causes through profiling reviews and root cause analysis
3. Develop and implement robust data quality controls and monitoring that are required to secure data certification within a complex data environment
4. Establish a standardized approach to capture and document metadata as well as issues across all assigned data domains
5. Develop and implement data policies and procedures for the assigned business units
6. Lead working groups and manage routine projects related to data governance to ensure that the business’s functional requirements are met
7. Develop and deliver status updates and presentations to senior management and key-stakeholders
8. Engage assigned business units to develop subject matter expertise
9. Work with data stewards to ensure new data elements and data change requests follow data certification processes
10. Perform all other duties as assigned
