The Regional Growth Director will serve as a key strategic leader responsible for expanding the company’s market presence, opening new clinic locations, fostering referral relationships, and optimizing clinic portfolio performance. This role will partner with senior leadership, clinic directors, operations teams, and marketing to execute a growth roadmap—ensuring that new sites meet financial, operational, and clinical benchmarks. The successful candidate will oversee multiple clinics across a geographic region, align growth initiatives with business objectives, and ensure that expansion efforts reinforce Champion’s reputation for exceptional care
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy & Market Expansion
Develop and implement a regional growth strategy : identify new markets, conduct competitive analyses, and evaluate potential clinic locations.
Lead site selection, business case development, lease negotiations, clinic build-out planning and transition to operational status.
Establish and maintain referral source relationships (physicians, surgeons, sports teams, employers) to support new and existing locations and ensure a sustainable pipeline of patients.
Coordinate with marketing, business development and community outreach teams to drive awareness, recruitment and patient acquisition for the region.
Monitor revenue, margin, patient volume, and other growth metrics for new and existing locations, and implement corrective actions when needed.
Portfolio & Operational Leadership
Oversee performance of clinics within the region : review key performance indicators (KPIs) such as utilization, patient retention, satisfaction, profitability and growth trends.
Mentor and collaborate with clinic directors and operations managers to deploy standard operating procedures, optimize workflows and maintain high standards of care and consistency across multiple sites.
Facilitate cross-site best practice sharing, support professional development, and align clinical and administrative teams with the company’s values and goals.
Manage regional budget forecasting, staffing models, capital expense planning, and resource allocation to support growth while maintaining operational excellence.
Ensure all clinics under scope adhere to regulatory, compliance and quality standards : state licensure, OSHA, HIPAA, and internal audit protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Physical Therapy, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in outpatient rehabilitation operations, business development or multi-site leadership; ideally with proven success in opening new locations or managing a clinic portfolio.
Strong strategic mindset with ability to analyze market data, develop business cases and execute growth initiatives.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders, mentor clinic leaders and foster a high-performance culture.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, P&L performance, resource allocation and operational KPIs.
Familiarity with outpatient physical therapy workflows, payer environment, referral management and industry regulatory requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel regionally to support clinic openings, leadership development, and growth initiatives.
