Areas of focus :
- Hire, train, and supervise office personnel.
- Analyze and organize office operations and procedures.
- Prepare a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format and time frame.
- Control all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions, and additions and changes to inventory.
- Prepare daily bank deposit and cash report.
- Maintain an effective cash management system. Forecast cash needs.
- Control petty cash amounts for dealership and sales department.
- Provide a timely daily operating control (DOC) and keeps the dealer / general manager informed about trends.
- Reconcile select accounts monthly.
- Approve adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts.
- Ensure that all manufacturer accounts including warranty claims, rebates, interest, protection, and co-op advertising accounts are current and accurate.
- Print monthly journals, schedules, and general ledger. Close month by processing accounting month-end.
- Participate in the preparation of short- and long-term forecasts.
- Assist in completion of annual review / audit.
- Ensure compliance with all government regulations.
- Prepare payroll on a timely basis, posts payroll, and maintains payroll records.
- Prepare tax reports, tax deposits and tax returns in a timely, accurate manner.
- Prepare employee health / life benefit payments.
- Stay abreast of current factory incentives and codes deliveries on dealership computer system accordingly.
- Administer charge-back program for late charges to inventory.
