Key Responsibilities :

• Strong knowledge in Linux / Unix administration is a MUST.
• Ability to perform database performance tuning on production systems.
• Automate reproducible infrastructure to maintain predictability and security..
• Support database infrastructure for both production and development systems.
• Implement predictable and repeatable automation for managing backups and restores.
• Collaborate across different product teams.
• Maintain enterprise-grade backups through well-designed, predictable, and repeatable automation, with a thorough understanding of data encryption.
• Respond to and troubleshoot production outages 24 / 7 for a global SaaS platform.
• Provide 24 / 7 support and real-time insight into production database systems.
• Maintain minimal Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for data loss using geo-replication and highly available design.
• Design and co-design production database architecture with Development Architects.
• Innovate with the latest database technologies to help the business scale effectively.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in database administration with expertise in MongoDB.
• Proficiency in noSQL and SQL technologies.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, SQL, JavaScript, and other languages.
• Experience designing and supporting geo-replicated, highly available databases.
• Familiarity with automated scheduling and deployment tools.
• Must be able to work a HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE (3 days in office, 2 days work from home) and come into Avetta's Houston Office located at 1330 Post Oak BLVD, Houston, TX 77056 .
