Description
Join Our Team as a Senior Nutritionist for the WIC Program!
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the health and well-being of women, infants, and children? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Nutritionist to lead our team in managing the nutrition component of the Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to federal regulations and state policies by planning, supervising, and evaluating the nutrition component of the program.
- Policy Development: Develop local program nutrition procedures based on state WIC Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Program Nutritionists and Nutrition Assistants, providing ongoing mentorship and guidance.
- Service Enhancement: Define staff responsibilities, work schedules, and participant service hours to optimize program delivery.
- Staff Development: Ensure nutrition staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills through training and annual reviews.
- Program Enhancement: Plan and evaluate nutrition education delivery, implement new strategies, and oversee annual Farmer’s Market Events.
- Community Engagement: Act as a nutrition liaison between state agencies, local programs, and healthcare providers, developing outreach and referral networks.
- Additional Duties: Perform high-risk certifications, provide nutrition education, and assist in program administration as needed.
