Our client is a well-known retailer with a strong presence in New York City and surrounding areas. Known for its premium products and loyal customer base, the company operates multiple retail locations, a corporate office, and a large distribution center, employing over 1,000 people. They values tradition, quality, and hands-on leadership, while the business is fast-paced and highly seasonal, especially during major holidays. The Head of Talent Acquisition offers the chance to design and implement a modern TA function, introduce best practices, and leave a lasting impact on a legacy brand. This role reports directly to senior leadership and works across retail, corporate, and warehouse operations to shape hiring outcomes and business performance in a high-growth, high-volume environment. A successful candidate will bring extensive experience in high-volume, full-cycle recruitment within retail, hospitality, or similar fast-paced industries. They will have a proven ability to design and implement scalable recruiting processes, ensure compliance with employment laws and documentation, and leverage HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred). This individual should be NY-based, deeply understand local talent markets, and possess exceptional influencing skills to partner with senior leadership. They are looking for someone to bring a fresh, innovative approach to sourcing and employer branding. Bilingual capability (English and Spanish) is highly preferred. This role is FULLY ON-SITE at the NYC headquarters with regular travel to local stores.
Develop and execute innovative talent acquisition strategies to meet the company's hiring goals.
Lead and mentor a team of recruiters to ensure optimal performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their workforce needs.
Implement best practices for sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding top-tier candidates.
Manage external recruitment partnerships and vendor relationships.
Track and analyze recruitment metrics to improve hiring processes and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, and industry conferences.
