The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), Assistant Professor, Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.
Role of the Position
The Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics department is searching for a board-certified, fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) specialist to join our expanding practice located in Las Vegas.
Clinical and academic responsibilities include training and supervision of OBGYN residents and medical students. Interest in research, education and leadership is a must. Faculty appointment at Assistant Professor rank. Involvement in starting a fellowship program is required. Chronic pelvic pain expertise is desirable.
The MIGS Section has a growing practice providing advanced multidisciplinary care of patients with complex conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding and fibroids, pelvic pain and endometriosis, abnormal placentation and mullerian anomalies. The MIGS division provides expertise in multiple surgical modalities such as laparoscopy, robotics, operative hysteroscopy, and vaginal surgery.
The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure consideration may be given upon hire on a case by case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and SOM Dean's recommendation.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have completed an AAGL MIGS Fellowship
Must be board certified or board eligible
Must be involved in development and execution of MIGS fellowship program
1-3 year experience preferred but current MIGS fellows encouraged to apply
Program Directorship experience preferred
Candidates must be able to possess and maintain a Nevada State Board of Pharmacy license and DEA License. Nevada medical license must be obtained prior to the start date. Finalists may be subject to a background check.
