We are seeking a caring, reliable, and patient Special Needs Instructional Aide to support students with disabilities in the classroom. In this role, you’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), support behavior management strategies, and help students reach their academic, social, and emotional goals.

Requirements :
Key Responsibilities :
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needsAssist with instructional activities under the direction of the teacherSupport students with communication, mobility, and daily living skillsMaintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing environmentDocument student progress and report observations to the teaching teamAttendance – Due to the nature of this position, you must have reliable attendance.You will learn safe techniques to redirect students during any behaviors.You may need to assist a student with hygiene and / or potty training.Knowledge, Skill and Experience :
The Instructional Aide must possess the following minimum requirements.
Age – 18 years of age or olderEducation – High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required, AA or BA preferred. Competency in English writing and communication (e.g. speaking, reading and writing).Medical – Must have a physical and TB screening test prior to employment and routinely during employment as required.Live Scan Clearance – Must possess and maintain a clear DOJ and FBI clearance prior to and during employment.Physical Requirements
The Instructional Aide must be able to comply with and adhere to the following physical requirements.
Pushing and Pulling – The Instructional Aide must be able to lift and or push at least 35lbs.Twisting and Turning – Due to the high activity of the program this position requires the individual to be able to physically bend, squat, reach over shoulders, reach over head, reach outward, kneel, sit, walk, run on normal, slippery, or uneven surfaces and stand.Safety Care – The Instructional Aide must be able to follow all Safety Care Procedures when needed.
