Summary
The Senior Manager, Foundation Operations works closely with the Foundation Executive Director (ED) and the Foundation Board of Directors to develop and administer strategic and operational plans and programs that incorporate goals and objectives toward the organization’s mission. This position oversees initiatives that strengthen and support the landscape industry through education, scholarships, and research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ORGANIZATIONAL & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Work with the Board of Directors and ED to develop strategic short-term and long-range plans and objectives for financial stability and organizational growth while monitoring progress toward stated goals.
- Communicate effectively with ED and Board and provide, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
- Organize and prepare materials and presentations for Board and committee meetings.
- Assist ED in managing fundraising efforts, helping to ensure development needs are met. Provide guidance and materials to help Board members solicit donors, etc.
- In conjunction with the ED, plan and execute fundraising events as directed by the Board.
- Assist ED with development of annual work plan and budget for approval by the NALP Foundation Board of Directors.
- Monitor and adhere to annual workplan budget.
- Work with ED and NALP finance team to ensure regular financial statements and investment reports are presented to the Board of Directors.
- Maintain accountability for operations and budgetary responsibilities.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state and national laws, statutes and regulations.
PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS
Work with ED on the implementation and management of programs that carry out the organization’s mission.Work with ED to execute annual plan to deliver strategic outcomes set forth by the Board of Directors.Provide direction and support to the committees and task groups, established from time to time, to plan, develop and execute research strategies.Manage the organizations scholarship program to include application submission, judging process, criteria review, promotion and publicity.Plan and manage logistics for annual scholarship award ceremony.PUBLIC RELATIONS / COMMUNICATION
Promote the overall public image of the organization among all stakeholders.Cultivate a sense of community with donors and Board of Directors.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field and / or 5-7 years of nonprofit experienceStrong communications capabilitiesExperience in working with board of directors or non-profit committees and demonstrated proficiency in project managementStrong organization abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitationAbility to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced, and sometimes stressful environment with a high degree of accuracy and professionalismAble to exhibit professional and effective interpersonal skills in communicating and coordinating with internal staff, and external partners and organizationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer literate, including Windows 365 and Microsoft Office.
