Role: HR Consultant Pay Rate: $46.03/hour, paid weekly Location of Assignment: Fully onsite in Columbus, OH or Des Moines, IA Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. EST Initial Contract Length: 1-month, with potential for extension or conversion to full-time Target Start Date: ASAP, pending onboarding completion Overview The position is responsible for reviewing records for accuracy and completeness, identifying items that require follow-up, and supporting outreach to associates to facilitate corrections through a designated technology tool. Success in this role requires strong judgment, close attention to detail, comfort working within a structured process, and the ability to manage high-volume administrative work involving sensitive information. The role reports to a designated manager and does not have direct reports. Responsibilities Review records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established process requirements. Identify discrepancies, omissions, or items requiring follow-up, applying defined review criteria to determine appropriate next steps. Initiate and support outreach to associates to request corrections or additional information using an approved technology platform. Accurately and consistently document review outcomes, status updates, and case activity. Maintain organized tracking of assigned work to support timely completion and reporting. Escalate exceptions, unclear scenarios, or higher-risk items to the appropriate internal resource. Handle sensitive associate information with discretion and in accordance with privacy and confidentiality standards. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience Experience in administrative, compliance, operations support, audit, or records review work preferred. Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment preferred. Experience using workflow systems, case management tools, HR systems, or similar technology platforms preferred. Experience communicating with employees, customers, or internal stakeholders regarding follow-up actions or required corrections preferred. Skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and documentation gaps. Ability to interpret and consistently follow defined procedures, job aids, and escalation paths. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple records or cases simultaneously. Sound judgment when reviewing sensitive or potentially non-compliant information. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and professional follow-up instructions. Ability to work independently while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations. Comfort navigating multiple systems and reconciling information across tools or sources. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personal information appropriately. Proficiency with standard business technology, including spreadsheets, tracking tools, and web-based systems.
