Responsibilities Leads the development and implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives, including Lean methodologies, to enhance operational efficiency within the functional area and enable the FC to consistently achieve and surpass business objectives. Responsible for the overall performance of either Inbound or Outbound operations, including safety, quality, and customer experience. Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance, provides feedback, and holds them accountable for their performance and that of their departments. Leverages Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, incorporating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and within the network. Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in the area, and provides needed support for other staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements: Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each; regularly bend, lift, stretch and reach both below the waist and above the head; walk around the FC frequently; continually stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily; work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned; access all building areas safely (ladders, stairs, gangways). Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience. Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends, and holidays. 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment. Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques. Preferred Qualifications Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation. Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA preferred.
