Job description
Providing expert leadership in health information exchange architectures, the full-time Senior Interoperability Architect will design, implement, and optimize interoperability solutions across VA/VHA systems and federal partners, ensuring secure data exchange and compliance with regulatory standards. Key responsibilities Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise interoperability architectures, including HL7, FHIR APIs, and eHealth Exchange frameworks Conduct technical assessments and gap analyses to recommend strategies that align with PWS goals and regulatory standards Oversee the development, configuration, testing, and deployment of interoperable solutions while troubleshooting complex production issues Required qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field (Master's preferred for BPA1) 8-12+ years of experience in health IT interoperability architecture, preferably within VA/VHA or federal healthcare environments Deep expertise in EHR systems, API management, cloud technologies, and interoperability standards/tools Relevant certifications such as PMP, SAFe (Architect/Agilist), or HL7/FHIR are highly desired Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and delivering high-quality solutions under federal contract requirements
