Job Description
A confidential defense manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead production teams in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment. This role oversees daily manufacturing activities, drives operational excellence, and ensures all processes meet strict quality, safety, and export compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise direct labor teams, oversee production schedules, and manage personnel, equipment, and materials to meet daily targets.
Lead and support initiatives to reduce waste, improve flow, and drive lean manufacturing practices (e.g., 6S, visual organization, set-up time reduction).
Coordinate job scheduling, monitor productivity, scrap, yield, and on-time delivery performance.
Implement preventative maintenance programs and maintain tooling, gages, and supplies.
Ensure safety compliance, PPE use, and adherence to manufacturing documentation and quality protocols.
Train, coach, and develop team members while addressing performance issues and ensuring clear communication.
Support cost reduction projects, process improvements, and capital equipment planning.
Work with cross-functional teams to achieve production, quality, and EHS goals.
Required Qualifications
Credential : Active VantageClear credential or active U.S. Security Clearance required (industry-recognized equivalents accepted).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate teams in a production environment.
Proficiency with manufacturing documentation, problem-solving, and production metrics.
U.S. Person status required under ITAR / EAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, Permanent Resident, or qualifying Refugee / Asylee).
Ability to interpret technical drawings, production schedules, and work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
Strong understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement practices.
Forklift operation experience (or ability to obtain certification).
Knowledge of probability, statistical inference, and production math (ratios, percentages, trigonometry).
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Vision requirements include close, color, and depth perception.
Work around moving mechanical parts and production equipment.
