Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry
Reports to : Priest In Charge / Rector
Directly Supervises : All volunteers in Youth Ministry
Status : Part Time (10 hours / week)
Compensation : $12,000 annually plus 1 weeks vacation, 1 week cont’d ed
Essential Functions :
- Create, communicate, and implement a vision for youth ministry within the parish, in coordination with the rector.
- Build trusting relationships with children and families.
- Plan and organize occasional children / family gatherings, both in education and fellowship, including but not limited to : Sunday formation hour, Christmas Pageant, Youth Sunday, VBS.
- Nurture children involvement within the wider parish.
- Plan and organize regular Sunday morning Children’s Chapel.
- Recruit and supervise volunteers, offering direction, guidance, and accountability where necessary.
- Manage publicity of children’s activities through all necessary avenues.
Other Responsibilities :
Maintain a presence at all Sunday and major worship services, as well as applicable parish events.Coordinate with the parish administrator to ensure church calendar is up to date.Engage in continuing education in order to implement new ideas, approaches, resources, etc and stay ahead of the field.Meet regularly with clergy and other staff to maintain cohesion between the various ministries of the parish.Keep up to date with SafeChurch requirements.Physical Requirements :
Able to keep up with the energy levels of youth.Able to speak in a public forum.Comfortability navigating different environments (church, parishioner homes, beach, hiking trails, public spaces, etc).Core Competencies :

Provide a vacation with full salary of one week annually.Pay the employer’s share of Social Security.Provide one week plus $500.00 annually for Continuing Education.
