Baker | Lucy's $18-$20/hour | Full-time | Sunday-Thursday | Morning shifts only Join the bakery team at Lucy's, a busy neighborhood restaurant in Grand Rapids' Creston neighborhood and part of Essence Hospitality Group. Our from-scratch bakery produces breads, pastries, donuts and desserts for Lucy's, other EHG restaurants and local wholesale accounts. Consistent morning schedule. No nights. Benefits eligibility starting at 25 hours/week. If you have solid kitchen experience, an eye for detail and an aptitude for baking, we're willing to train. Monday-Thursday: 4:30 a.m. start Sunday: 5:30 a.m. start Consistent hours with some flexibility based on production needs No nights The early-morning start time is an essential part of this position and is non-negotiable. The position may also include driving a company van to deliver bakery products to local accounts. What You'll Be Making Our bakery produces a wide variety of from-scratch products, including: Breads Pastries and laminated pastries Cookies Donuts, including frying and decorating Cakes Plated dessert components Retail baked goods for Lucy's storefront Baked goods for EHG restaurants and local wholesale accounts What We're Looking For Previous kitchen experience required Baking experience preferred, but we're willing to train the right person with a strong aptitude for baking Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to accurately scale ingredients and follow formulas Basic math skills Clean and organized work habits Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Dependability, particularly with early-morning start times Cake decorating experience is welcome, but this is not a cake-decorating position.
