- Own how order forms and commercial terms are structured, from self-serve templates to customer-paper deals
- Implement AI tooling to draft and route routine work
- Make judgment calls involving risk, negotiation, and process design
- Refine the ad hoc Word-document order form process with clear intake, ownership, and decision paths
- Close deal desk requests within SLA
- Assist sales representatives in drafting and negotiating business terms
- Build clause libraries, approval thresholds, templates, and AI guardrails
- Review non-standard AI-drafted output
- Guide representatives through pricing and discounting guardrails
- Use margin analysis and involve Sales, Finance, and cross-functional leaders in exception approvals
- Own deal desk intake, templates, approvals, and escalation paths
- Maintain Salesforce as the deal desk system of record
- Keep opportunity records accurate and build reporting on cycle time, exception volume, and stalled deals
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Sales to resolve exceptions and escalations
- Establish and document a scalable deal desk function
- Pilot or apply AI or automation to improve workflows
- Refine templates, thresholds, and routing rules based on operational data
Requirements:
- 12+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a master's; or equivalent experience
- Deep experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial terms, including customer-paper deals
- Independent judgment to set precedent and make final calls on exceptions
- Track record of building process or policy from scratch in an unstructured environment and achieving adoption
- Fluency working alongside AI-assisted drafting and routing tools
- Cross-functional influence aligning Legal, Finance, and Sales without formal authority
- Understanding of how deal structure affects revenue recognition
- Working familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM
- Experience with or strong aptitude for CPQ and contract lifecycle management tooling
- Comfort operating in a regulated, healthcare-data business
- Readiness to operate as a senior individual contributor and ability to build and lead a team as the function grows
- Comfort using or learning AI-supported tools such as ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools
- Openness to experimenting with new technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly evolving environments
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment
- Ability to travel periodically for work
