Responsible for analyzing the performance of wind and solar forecasts, developing advanced forecasting methodologies including machine learning techniques, and integrating their impacts into grid operations. Analyzes the sources of grid variability, including fuel availability and emissions limitations, and provides analysis and technical support to ensure continuing reliable operations of the electric power grid in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols and Market Guides. Provides analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system. Implements appropriate system modeling, develops tools and procedures to monitor and control the system, performs system studies, analyzes simulated or actual operating results, develops solutions to current or future system issues, and appropriately reports findings and recommendations.

Level 2 Engineer Requirements : Minimum 1 year experience as a power system engineer or similar role. Experience within the electric utility industry preferred.Level 3 Engineer Requirements : Minimum 3 years experience as a power system engineer or similar role. Experience within the electric utility industry preferred.Senior Level Requirements : Requires minimum 5 years experience as a power system engineer or similar role within the electric utility industry.Salary and level will be based on overall experience as determined by ERCOT. There is one position available.
Preferred Experience
Experience in data analysis / analytics and working with large data sets / relational databasesExperience with Python and / or RExperience with wind and / or solar forecastingExperience with machine learningExperience with power flow analysis tools such as Powerworld or PSSEEducation
Bachelor's Degree : Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is requiredCertification
PE Professional Engineer (Preferred)Work Location
Taylor, TX : On-site in Taylor, TX at a minimum of 2 days per week or more as needed.
