Behavior Technician for Phlebotomists and EKG Technicians
United Care ABA-Colorado -
You already calm the kid who’s terrified of the needle. Imagine what you could do with a whole hour.
As a phlebotomist or EKG technician, you’re the one who gets the scared child through it. You talk them down, keep them still, and get it done right the first time. Then they’re gone in five minutes and you never see them again.
As a Behavior Technician (BT), you get to stay. You work 1:1 with a child with autism, week after week, and watch them learn to communicate, follow routines, and handle the moments that used to overwhelm them.
The skills you use every day are the skills we need.
You label every tube perfectly. As a BT, you record every session’s data with the same accuracy. In ABA, the data drives the child’s treatment.
You follow protocol to the letter. Here, you follow the child’s treatment plan written by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), step by step.
You keep anxious patients calm. Here, you help a child stay regulated and work through hard moments.
You explain what’s happening to worried parents. Here, you build trust with families and keep them in the loop.
Your lab opens early. Your afternoons are free.
In-home sessions after school, Monday through Friday

Love working with kids? Turn it into a career that supports you.
Phlebotomy and EKG are often the first step into healthcare. If you’re asking yourself “what’s next,” here’s an answer. Start as a BT, learn the field from the inside, and when you’re ready, go back to school to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). BCBAs are in demand in schools, ABA companies, and beyond.
When you decide to go for it, we’re with you. We partner with our best BTs to help them get there, and along the way, we offer scholarships to those we recognize as part of our long-term community.
What You’ll Do:
Provide 1:1 ABA sessions in the child’s home under BCBA supervision
Follow each child’s individualized treatment plan
Collect accurate session data
Help kids build communication, social, and daily living skills
Stay in touch with your clinical supervisor
What You Get:
Afternoon and weekend hours that fit around your morning shift
BCBAs who mentor, not micromanage
Regular team huddles and check-ins, so you’re never stuck on an island
BT Spotlights, because your wins get noticed
A real path toward becoming a BCBA
Who We’re Looking For:
Phlebotomists and EKG technicians who love working with children
Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable following clinical protocols
Calm under pressure and open to feedback
Strong communication and people skills
Care without chaos. Teamwork without drama.
We see you. We support you. We mean it.
