GETTING DOWN TO BRASS TACKS
The Prior Authorization Coordinator position reports directly to the PAC Supervisor. You will provide unbiased opinions on the appropriateness of current treatments based on medical records, national guidelines and plan documents.
You will oversee all daily production tasks for incoming prior authorization requests.
Anticipated schedule is five shifts, eight hours a day between Monday - Sunday. Seasonal overtime and weekend on-call hours may be required.
Company headquarters are located in Salt Lake City, but position is remote and relocation is not required.
- Process prior authorization requests.
- Perform analysis, obtain information, and enter prior authorization data necessary for claims adjudication.
- Identify missing information and make prior authorization processing determinations based on clinical protocols and client guidelines (approve, pend, or refer for clinical decision).
- Interact with our customers to provide and obtain information and ensure the delivery of outstanding service and quality.
- Work with support, relying on instructions, work process guidelines and procedures, and company experience to perform the responsibilities of the job.

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (Utah or National License). *License requirements and Continuing Education costs are reimbursed by MRIoA.*
- 1+ year prior authorization experience preferred.
- 1+ Health plan or Pharmacy Benefit Manager experience preferred.
- Experience with Medicare Part 'D" preferred.
