The Senior Director, Community Engagement (SDCE) serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for managing and directing TrueCare’s outreach, engagement, programming, and strategic partnerships across our service area (San Diego County and Riverside County) to ensure alignment with the mission of TrueCare.  The SDCE will effectively generate, oversee, and evaluate initiatives designed to engage the community and support strategic organizational goals.
The SDCE oversees TrueCare community initiatives, which include community programs, outreach efforts, community meetings, and, most importantly, strategic partnerships.
The SDCE also leads TrueCare efforts to identify and secure partnerships with community and government entities to appropriately address TrueCare patients’ social determinants of health.
The SDCE ensures a consistent presence in the community to increase awareness of TrueCare sites, services, and programs.
The SDCE maintains a proactive, creative leadership role in improving population health by providing access points for their continuum of care.
The SDCE will possess exceptional skills in community relations, establishing and maintaining systems, a creative entrepreneurial spirit, and enthusiasm for engaging a wide variety of community partners.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate a strategic work plan focused on department objectives throughout TrueCare service areas, providing strong, dynamic leadership that mentors and develops team members while providing strategic direction and vision to the department.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, lead the community programs team to ensure effective, sought-after programs are developed, implemented, and relevant to the changing healthcare landscape.
- Oversee all department initiatives, including community outreach and engagement, community programs, community meetings, and strategic partnerships development and stewardship.
- Develop, assess, collaborate, plan, design, and operationalize new and revised workflows within and across departments to maximize efficiency, productivity, and cross-training.
- Serve as one of TrueCare’s primary representatives in the community with partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders while enhancing and promoting the image of TrueCare in a professional manner.
- Using community outreach personnel and other organizational resources ensure TrueCare attains and retains status as a lead healthcare provider in the region as well as a strong, effective, and preferred partner of organizations and government entities across the service area.
- Mentor, coach, and guide TrueCare community engagement leaders in the Inland Empire, working to ensure TrueCare becomes a well-known and trusted healthcare partner in the region.
- Identify and lead opportunities for new partnerships, evaluate strategic benefits, and work with relevant interest holders and TrueCare leaders to effectuate.
- In collaboration with the Compliance department, oversee contracting, memorandums of understanding, and other legal instruments that solidify partnerships, ensure accuracy, and protect TrueCare and our patients.
- Work with the Planning & Development department to ensure comprehensive, compelling, and competitive grant applications to garner funding for department efforts and initiatives.
- Oversee all department grant-funded work to ensure goals are met, funds are spent appropriately, and timely and accurate grant reporting is submitted.
- Mentor staff and build cohesive teams within the department.
- Assess ongoing staff training needs and promote developmental opportunities.
- Keep staff informed of organizational initiatives and direction while promoting TrueCare’s mission and strategic plan goals.
- Interact with TrueCare board members and community leaders as needed at events and meetings as appropriate.
- Complete special assignments from the corporate executive team, including the CEO.
Required Qualifications :
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience in health services, administration, business administration, public administration, public health, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in a related field.A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in healthcare, community engagement, or another field relevant to and aligning with the essential functions noted above.A minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory experience in healthcare, a non-profit organization, or a related field.Experience with program development Experience in and understanding of medically underserved populations within the healthcare environment.Desired Qualifications A master’s degree from an accredited institution.Management or supervisory experience in a non-profit organization.Benefits :
