As a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech III) within the Power / HVAC division at United Rentals, you'll use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification / air purification equipment.

What you'll do :

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
• Report machine condition to Management
• Responsible for service documentation
• Occasional travel to customer sites
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Train lower level technicians as needed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements :

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment
• Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
• Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Own the tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal / written communication skills
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

What you'll do :

• Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex Tools and Specialty Equipment at branch or customer locations involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and hoisting
• Perform intermediate level diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Tools and systems utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork / electronic documentation of work performed
• When required travel to customer site for repair / maintenance of rental or owned equipment
• May assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc.

Requirements :

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience repairing / maintaining Specialty Tools
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
• Working knowledge of Specialty Tools; manufacturers' warranty access; and work order / time spent accounting
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced service technicians
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal / written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
