RESPONSIBILITIES

Cacique Foods, LLC is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as the Director of Engineering. This full-time, regular / at-will position is pivotal in leading our Technical Teams and ensuring that our food production facilities operate at peak efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance.

As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering function within our organization, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of our manufacturing systems and processes.

Your role will involve strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with other departments to meet the company's objectives.

You will be tasked with optimizing our operations to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Your duties will include managing capital projects, improving existing equipment, collaborating in product & packaging development, and introducing innovative technologies that align with our company's growth strategies.

You will also be responsible for budget management, vendor negotiations, and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement within your team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food processing (preferably dairy products) or a related industry, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams to success.

You will be expected to foster a collaborative work environment, mentor and develop your team, and contribute to the overall leadership and direction of the company.

The salary will be provided on an annual basis, with the amount commensurate with experience and industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in engineering equipment, tools, technologies, and software relevant to the food industry (preferably dairy products)
  • Hands-on dynamic and decisive leader, able to create strong collaboration with production and maintenance, to drive all technical improvement forward.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in managing capital projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a clear data driven operating model.
  • Strong knowledge in health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ability and desire to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Financial acumen for budget management and cost control
  • Negotiation skills for vendor and contractor management
  • Strategic planning and organizational skills
  • Commitment and Passion for excellence

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Food technology or related field)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role within the food processing or related industry
  • At least 10 years of experience in a senior management or leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes.
  • Track record of successfully managing large-scale engineering projects from conception to completion
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and Food Safety and industry best practices.
  • History of developing and mentoring engineering teams
  • Previous responsibility for budget development and cost management
  • Experience in implementing new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology
