Company Description
Job Description
- Greet and escort patients to examining room; make them feel welcome and comfortable
- Prepare patient for exams; obtain urine specimens, check vital signs, document symptoms, complaints & medications
- Ensure the patient's demographic information is correct and updated
- Evaluate calls for emergencies and triage appropriately
- Coordinate and schedule physician's appointments, meetings, etc.
- Assist the physician, residents and fellows with exams and procedures
- Give injections and / or teach the patient to administer injections to self
- Assist patient with obtaining lab slips and / or referrals, scheduling procedures, prescriptions, etc.
- Educate patients on healthcare concerns & problems, office & hospital procedures, medications, testing, etc.
- Cooperate and interact with team members and coworkers
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and others
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Maintain patient flow
- Follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
Certificate / License :
Medical Assisting Certification Required
Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
