Position Summary This position is responsible for applying codes in the EHR for all Emergency Room type accounts. Code assignment is based on ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and CPT. Ensure Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) data elements are accurate. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
• Meets quality standards for ICD-10-CM and CPT code assignment.
• Codes from only compliant documentation.
• Maintains productivity standards to ensure A / R Day goals are met / exceeded.
• Follows company policies, procedures, and directives.
• Maintains required coding credentials.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. • One or more years' experience coding ICD-10-CM and CPT coding in an acute care hospital emergency room required.
• Successful completion of an accredited coding program. Education / Licensure / Certification :
• One of the following credentials required. AHIMA : CCS / RHIT / RHIA or AAPC : COC / CEDC
