Senior Surveyor
Scope
Provides management, leadership, guidance, and performance tracking of multiple survey crews, survey technicians for successful project completion.
Acts as a direct interface between the client and IMEG. The LS III utilizes appropriate staff members to ensure projects are successfully completed on schedule and within budget while adhering to the IMEG Core Values.
Principal Responsibilities
- Serves as the technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods.
- Research sufficient property information to prepare detailed scopes, budgets, and schedules for surveying projects.
- IMEG billings / invoicing standards.
- Assign research and other survey tasks to other surveyors or assistants. Review research.
- Mentor Survey Technicians and other Land Surveyors.
- Provide surveying services and consultation to clients in a legal and ethical manner, while keeping IMEG’s liability to a minimum.
- Implementation of effective practices, methods, techniques, and equipment for the practice of land surveying.
- Verifies and utilizes current applicable regulations when overseeing project work.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude to understand Caltrans format calculations, alignments, and instructions for field work.
- Knowledge of CAD software functionality to prepare survey plats and exhibits.
- Must maintain thorough understanding of IMEG survey equipment, survey practices, and survey software programs including GPS surveying practices.
- Effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, and others.
- Travel may be required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Land Surveying or minor in Land Surveying.
- Professional Land Surveyor License + 10 years’ experience.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.
