ERP is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability and Veteran.\n\nResponsibilities : \n\nWork Schedule : \n\nMonday - Friday, 8 hours between 7 : 00am and 5 : 00pm\n\nNo weekends, No Call, No Holidays!\n\nJob Specific Position Duties : The duties include, but are not limited to the following : \n
  • Knowledgeable on professional care theories, principles, practices, standards and procedures to provide comprehensive primary care to a select population of essentially healthy women and / or their babies in a variety of settings to include, obstetrical antepartum or intrapartum management, postpartum care, gynecologic care and immediate newborn care.\n
  • Knowledgeable on growth, development, and pathophysiology of disease processes specific to the obstetrical and gynecological population to include all ages of the spectrum from neonate to\n
  • Knowledgeable of a wide range of medical disorders to include sickle cell anemia, diabetes, sexually transmitted diseases, thyroid disorders, hypertension, and cardiac disease among others and their potential impact on perinatal outcomes, as well as broad knowledge of normal delivery variations, their complications and indicated therapeutic intervention required.\n
  • Knowledgeable of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, to include desired effects, side effects, and complications / contraindications for their use. Demonstrate ability to administer pharmacologic agents and accurately compute dosage calculations as Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient's condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.\n
  • Knowledgeable on computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.\n
  • Skilled in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, suction equipment, nebulizers, fetal heart rate monitors, and other unit specific equipment.\n
  • Have the ability to interpret fetal heart tracing or will enroll in a class within 6 weeks of hire to obtain this formal training in fetal heart rate monitoring\n
  • Maintain all certification and education required for patient care\n
  • Collaborate with the physician, nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, or clinical nurse specialist in the health care / education of patients.\n
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, to include annual physicals / health assessments, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.\n
  • Coordinates patient care through a multi-disciplinary continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to provision of care, quality improvement and cost\n
  • Ensures compliance with standards of nursing care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.\n
  • Assesses\n
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates within a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans / actions / outcomes, and for teaching / education to benefit the patient / family and organization. Effectively uses appropriate communication format to address professional issues.\n
  • Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activities in accordance with unit / medical treatment facility requirements.\n
  • Recognizes adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency\n
  • Completes orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with (IAW) unit\n
  • Participates in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, as\n
  • Serves and participates in committees, functions and other meetings as directed. Provides relevant and timely information to these groups, and assists with decision-making and process improvement Participates in customer service initiatives designed to enhance health services.\n
  • Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.\n\nQualifications : \n\nMinimum Qualifications : \n
  • Degree / Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an educational program accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).\n
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support : The HCW shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) is Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines. Members must present proof of current certification(s) through American Health Association or American Red Cross. Computer-based training does not constitute fulfilling the training requirements. Must maintain currency at NO cost to the government.\n
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring : Certification must be through a program or educational center accredited by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. The certification must be current and maintained current, and member must present proof of current certification. Must maintain current at NO cost to the government\n
  • Experience : 2-4 years of labor and delivery or Women's Health Clinic experience is preferred\n
  • Board Certification : None, but NCC certification is encouraged\n
  • Licensure / Registration : Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted nursing license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia and must maintain a nursing license to practice in the United States of Any disciplinary actions taken against your license or loss of your license must be reported to your employer within 72 hours.
