Eligibility Specialist

THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Position Summary :

• Tidal Basin seeks a competent Eligibility Specialist to join the team supporting the Alaska Non-Congregate Sheltering (NCS) program.
• The position will assist with reviewing FEMA NCS applicants for those affected by Typhoon Nalong.
• This position represents an exceptional opportunity to join an expert team to facilitate change and help make a lasting difference.     The Eligibility Specialist is responsible for reviewing the affected applicant’s FEMA NCS application and come to an eligibility determination.  The responsibility also includes evaluating previously denied applications for potential appeals.
• The Eligibility Specialist may potentially serve as a point of contact between the program and the applicant, and is expected to provide exceptional customer service while assisting the client in coordinating necessary services and resources to address their sheltering needs.
• Eligibility Specialists will be responsible for meeting goals and objectives as assigned, complying with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements, and adhering to all contractual or prescribed stakeholder expectations or requirements.
