Our client is a high growth company that is the leading beauty retail provider in the U.S. They provide products across a wide range of categories within CPG and other general merchandise categories.

JOB SUMMARY :

They are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support across two business units. This is a hybrid position based at our Encinitas office. The role will also support a remote population throughout the United States. The ideal candidate brings proven HR experience in Employee / Labor Relations, Safety, Benefits / Leave Administration and Recruitment.

LOCATION : Encinitas, CA (Hybrid)

SALARY : Up to 100K

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

I. Recruitment and Staffing

  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for all open positions. Work closely with hiring managers to understand the needs of their department and any required job openings.
  • Collaborate with HR and TA team in the recruitment process from posting job openings to extending offers of employment.
  • Schedule and coordinate pre-employment drug tests and background verification, if necessary. Create new-hire onboarding programs and deliver compelling new-hire orientations.

II. Training and Development

  • Ensure mandatory training and continuing education is complete and documented, including safety training, code of conduct and handbook training, anti-harassment training and certifications required. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, changes to regulations, new technology breakthroughs in HR, talent, and employment law.
  • III. Benefits Administration

  • Support all employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, leave of absence and wellness initiatives.
  • Educate employees on benefit options and facilitate annual Open Enrollment period.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • IV. Employee Relations

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage all details and coordination of disciplinary discussions, terminations, and investigations.
  • Guide the leadership team on sensitive or complex matters and elevate to the appropriate staff when investigations are required. Ensure professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role. Promote a positive workplace culture by addressing employee issues promptly and professionally.
  • Provide guidance and support in adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • V. Onboarding and Orientation

  • Develop and enhance the onboarding process to provide new hires with a seamless and engaging experience.
  • Ensure all required paperwork, training, and equipment provisioning are completed efficiently.
  • Coordinate introductions to key team members and departments.
  • VI. Performance Management

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal processes.
  • Support managers in setting performance goals and conducting performance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for employee development and training.
  • VII. Compliance and Legal Matters

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations specific to retail and warehouse operations.
  • Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Assist in handling legal matters, such as employee disputes and disciplinary actions.
  • VIII. HR Metrics and Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and report HR metrics to monitor workforce trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data to support strategic decision-making within the HR department.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to multitask and remain calm in emergency situations
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to display integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment laws.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
