You will be responsible for the stores overall operations including sales, profits, appearance, and personnel.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to bend repetitively and kneel
- Able to stand for extended periods of time on a regular basis
- Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and carry out instructions
- Must be able to give direction to staff and follow-up on instructions
- Tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes, cleaning products and propane fumes
- Climb ladders to clean or to move stored items
- Work in extreme cold and hot temperatures (stocking coolers / freezers, out side work)
- Ability to communicate distinctly on a verbal and written level
- Spend a minimum of 50 hours per week working in the store. You need to spend as many hours as it takes to fulfill your responsibilities as a manager
Responsibilities
- Represent Petro Serve USA and promote company values and goals
- Exhibit leadership qualities and techniques through a teamwork approach to all employees
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to elevate staff and encourage individual abilities
- Recruit, interview, hire, train and schedule all store personnel
- Promote a friendly, enthusiastic relationship between store employees and customers
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers
- Communicate to store personnel all policies, procedures, sales promotions and other directives from the company relating to their job duties and responsibilities
- Set clear expectations and goals for your staff
- Hold employees accountable including coaching, disciplinary action and termination
- Achieve required level of profitability by proper purchasing, pricing, merchandising, and shrinkage control in conformance to company policy
- Safeguarding all assets assigned to store, including equipment, supplies and inventory
- Order all groceries and supplies (except fuels) to avoid overstocking and shortages of products
- Promotion of store sales and utilize up-selling techniques
- Notify district manager of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies
- Assure store premises, interior and exterior, are maintained in a clean and attractive manner
- Properly clean and maintain equipment
- Perform light repair work on equipment and premises. Consult with District Manager and Retail Operations Manager for arrangements for other necessary repairs
- Complete all required reports in an accurate and timely manner and send to office daily
- Respond promptly to supervisors guidance regarding store operation and the implementation of suggestions and / or merchandise promotions
- Cooperate with all levels and departments of the company in fulfilling the needs of others in relation to the operation of the store
- Maintain awareness of competitive market conditions and pricing and report findings to your supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
