Emergence is hiring a Court Liaison SUD Counselor to support a caseload of justice-involved individuals in our treatment court program. For the past 30 years, treatment court has been the most effective evidence-based approach to reduce the negative effects of mass incarceration. Emergence has provided SUD treatment to participants in treatment court since 1994. We are looking for a committed, mission-driven counselor to support treatment court participants to find long-term recovery and transform their lives.

Court Liaison SUD Counselor Position Highlights :
- $3,500 Sign On BONUS
- Salary Non-Exempt position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

Court Liaison SUD Counselor Responsibilities :
Facilitate group therapy sessionsFacilitate individual counseling sessionsCreate treatment plans that incorporate both client-directed goals and program requirements mandated by referral sourcesRecord and track client progress on treatment plan objectives and prepare status reports when requested by referral sourcesObserve and collect urine drug testsObserve and collect urine drug testsCoordinates with clinical team and courts to communicate risks and needs of clients being served and how those are being metAttends weekly clinical staffing to stay informed of the challenges and successes of the clientsVerifies Return to Court list with the docket each day and send the next week's RTC list to clinical staff at the end of each weekMonitors weekly treatment notes submitted by clinical staff to court via court reporting systems and ensures reports are accurate and submitted in a timely mannerUpload client ASAM and service plans to court reporting systemsAttends pre-court staffing, shares clinical recommendations and opinions of the clinical staffAttends court during assigned court sessions.Court Liaison SUD Counselor Requirements :
High school diploma or GEDCADC-I or CADC-II or ability to be certified within 2 years of hireExceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate natureSUD Counselor Preferred :
Associate degree in addictions counseling, or a Bachelor's degree with coursework in addictionPrevious experience with the treatment of substance use disordersTwo years' experience in clinical documentationFamiliarity with electronic health record (HER) systems like Carelogic would be advantageousExperience with co-occurring disordersApplication of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services' (SAMHSA) best practice indicatorsKnowledge of drug testing to monitor treatment plans and medical instructionsExcellent written and oral communication skills
