Position Description

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to : Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

About the Department and / or College

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation.

The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management.

Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas / Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio.

The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing.

With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.

Major / Essential Functions

Managing the day-to-day aspects of the STEM MBA / Full-time MBA program- overseeing degree plans, communicating with STEM MBA faculty, confirming schedules, degree audits, registration, permits, time tickets, tracking attributes every semester, advising sessions, graduation audits, monitor academic standing, monitoring enrollment numbers, and liaising between student, graduate school, and the students primary program.

Managing the day-to-day aspects of the MS-HRM program - overseeing degree plans, communicating with MSHRM faculty advisors, confirming schedules, degree audits, registration, permits, time tickets, track attributes every semester, advising sessions, graduation audits, monitor academic standing, monitoring enrollment numbers, and liaising between student and graduate school.

Manage graduation check out process; audit graduation intent list, update expected graduation terms, submit exceptions, and work with the Graduate School to clear students.

Maintain the processes and records related to Ph.D. student degree and academic matters, including degree plans,dissertation status, and paperwork for doctoral students.

Ensure enrollment management accuracy through the Grad School Sharepoint site. Manage reporting; enrollment and semester credit hour reporting, and non-financial annual report data.

Manage academic records for all graduate level, and certificate level students.

Monitor probation / suspension status and communicate with the Graduate School and Rawls departments regarding academic standing.

Assist the Sr. Director with graduate program ranking surveys.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive computer knowledge (MS Excel, Outlook, etc.). Able to communicate both orally and in writing. Customer service and problem solving skills are demanded along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Self starter and attention to detail are key.

Proficiency with Banner, Cognos, SharePoint, Registrar Dashboard, ChromeRiver, Blackboard and Texas Tech Systems.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
