Civil Project Engineer II - Stormwater Group

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our Stormwater Group in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs.
• Provide engineering assistance for the design of best management practices (BMPs), low impact development (LID) solutions, natural stream restoration, and other stormwater related projects.
• Understand stormwater management, erosion and sediment control.
• Provide technical expertise and check accuracy of all completed work. Ensure a QA / QC review is completed at the appropriate stages of each project.
• Prepare project specifications to include materials, installation, inspection and payment items specific to a project.
• Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and / or computer tools to solve problems.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed.
• Communicate with clients and internal design team as directed by the Project Manager.
