Job Description :

The Medical Technologist performs and interprets standard, complex and specialized tests.

  • Performs full range of chemical, microbiological, immunological, hematologic, and immunohematology laboratory procedures.
  • Evaluates test results and follow-up with appropriate action.
  • Performs instrument calibrations, maintenance, QC and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Completes all internal and external documentation as per policies and procedures.
  • Provides administrative and technical consulting on laboratory testing.
  • Assists in the training of laboratory personnel, other healthcare professionals and consumers.

Participates in evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory

Qualifications

Job Qualifications :

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences is preferred.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.

Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
