Position Overview

As a Payroll Manager at Galen College of Nursing, you will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll including review of time keeping entries and HRIS records while providing support to managers and employees. Work closely with HR to ensure new hire, termination, and status changes are reflected in payroll.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Understanding of time and attendance software and human resource information system software including employee self-service platform.
  • Compile and process faculty contract pay, stipends, and other special payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains strong customer service relationships with campus leaders and human resources staff.
  • Adheres to corporate internal control processes and strict deadlines.
  • Assists managers and employees in research and resolution of payroll transactions as needed.
  • Develops and leads applicable training programs related to time keeping and payroll procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency, including changes to applicable forms / tools.
  • Stays abreast of multi-state regulatory requirements and company policies including maintaining internal employee resource center as needed.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors and others.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience : Minimum 3-5 years of HR / Payroll experience
  • Special Qualifications : Strong ability to use MS Office packages, including MS Word and Excel; Detail oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances; Familiar with the use of HRIS, timekeeping and payroll software; Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as good organizational skills
  • Physical / Mental Demands & Work Environment : Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time. Ability to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.
  • Degree of Supervision : Minimal
