Senior Engineer/Software Engineer

Job Description:-

Senior Engineer is responsible for the Analysis and Design of Infrastructure for all Mastercard web based applications.
Senior Engineer is engaged early in the project life cycle to ensure the technical design meets the sizing and performance requirements of each application.
Installation and configuration of Splunk product at different environments. Configured Splunk Searching and Reporting modules, Knowledge Objects, Administration, Add-On's, Dashboards, Clustering and Forwarder Management.
Create Knowledge Objects, Roles, pivots, advanced searches, reports, and visualizations for the application teams and business executives.
Designing and maintaining production-quality Splunk dashboards. Developed Splunk Dashboards, searches and reporting to support various internal clients in Security, IT Operations and Application Development.
Configured and developed complex dashboards and reports on Splunk. Involved in Installation, Administration and Configuration of Splunk Enterprise and integration with local legacy systems.
Migrated Splunk Enterprise Architecture from 6.5.1 to 7.1 version.
Installed and configured Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk Search Head, Splunk Indexer, Splunk Heavy forwarder, Splunk Universal forwarder, and Deployment server on UNIX and Windows platforms.
Closely worked with IT and Security Engineer team for requirement gathering.
Played a major role in understanding the logs, server data and brought an insight of the data for the users.
Installed and configured Splunk DB Connect in Single and distributed server environments.
Estimate hardware capacity and storage requirements for distributed Splunk environment.
Monitor Splunk Infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization.
Publishing data into Splunk through configurations such as inputs.conf, serverclass.conf, server.conf, apps.conf and Outputs.conf configurations.
Creating custom signatures in the front end and back end of using regex.
Creating Regular Expressions for Field Extractions and Field Transformations in Splunk.
Developed custom PowerShell script to install and update the Splunk and Appdynamics agents.
Creating Synthetic and Business transactions for applications using Appdynamics.
Automating Splunk using Perl with Service-Now for event triggering.
Fine-tuned Servers and configured networks for optimum performance.

Technologies:
As Senior Engineer involved in requirements gathering, analysis and business processes management with a strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Working on Splunk Enterprise, Security, Machine Learning Toolkit, ITSI.
Working in MQ, Shell scripting & various Unix flavors.
Conducting sessions with stakeholders (Project Managers, Resource Planners, Business Analysts, Development team) to collect requirements, business rules, business processes, approval workflows, field level details etc. and produce Business Requirement Document, Functional Requirement Document, Workflow diagrams etc.
Handling client interaction, Elicitation, coordination of the project deliverables, gathering of requirements, coordination with technical resources, conducting brainstorming sessions and provide technical solutions in order to meet business needs.
Understanding and mapping business processes to identify system limitation and develop opportunities to automate process and function.
Using FTP, HTTPS & Remote server login.
Document Requirements into Use cases or Stories in ALM, Remedy and confluence.
Working on test plans and test cases, generating test scripts for multiple projects and proficient in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Working on entire software development life cycle starting with Requirements Analysis through Post Implementation support.
Analyzing tasks, time management and problem-solving for the clients.
