As a Solution Delivery Architect, you’ll take charge of configuring mainframe hardware such as HCD and IOCP. You’ll play a key role during new client migrations, ensuring their environments are accurately replicated in Ensono data centers. When issues arise with mainframe hardware—like failed tape drives or offline devices—you will be the go-to resolver. Additionally, you’ll manage weight adjustments on HMC for LPARS as necessary for consistent mainframe support.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define GEN mainframe equipment connections to Mainframe CPU.
- Support existing mainframe hardware in terms of functionality, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Evaluate client systems for migration to Ensono data centers.
- Assess proposed solutions for feasibility and supportability.
- Work with network teams to identify IPs and ports for mainframe hardware devices and LPARs, facilitating access and firewall setups.
- Collaborate with data center hardware teams on grid locations and power requirements for installations.
- Document hardware and LPAR cabling (network and FICON) along with associated IP addresses.
What You Need :
Minimum 3 years of experience in a z / OS environment supporting Tape, DASD, CPU, and various mainframe hardware.Proven experience in creating HCD and IOCP for zOS, zVM, and zVSE within complex multi-data center settings.Capability to manage multiple client hardware upgrades and data center migrations.Familiarity with Z Series HMC and support elements.Ability to contribute independently to hardware migrations and upgrades.Basic understanding of network connectivity for mainframe, DASD, and Tape subsystem HMCs.Strong communication skills for interaction with account management and project managers.Experience coordinating with vendors and geographically distributed data center support teams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Adept in following ITSM processes and procedures; proficient in Excel, Visio, and MS Project or their equivalents.Competence in evaluating architecture proposals for supportability before client presentation.Solid understanding of z / OS operating system.Familiarity with tape and DASD replication methods across various mainframe vendors.Capability to build and manage mainframe DR configurations at various Recovery Facilities.Active participation in Disaster Recovery Tests.Knowledge of data encryption technologies on the mainframe.Experience with Putty is beneficial.Willingness to mentor and train junior hardware configuration team members.Understanding of networking from an IP, port, and firewall perspective to support environment access.Familiarity with mainframe hardware / LPARs and network / FICON cabling standards.Experience with z / VM or z / Linux is a plus.Why Choose Ensono?

Actual salary may vary depending on a variety of factors including skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. This role also includes potential annual bonuses based on individual and company performance and eligibility for our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
