Location : Austin, TX 78744 (100% Remote)

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 3 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM (includes holidays)

Contract Term : 7-month contract with possible extension

About the Role

GTS is seeking an experienced Network Security Analyst II to serve as a Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) Tier 2 Analyst. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding digital infrastructure through advanced intrusion detection, incident response, and threat analysis.

This is a highly technical, high-impact role supporting the agency's 24x7 CSOC. The analyst will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and managing security incidents, as well as contributing to continuous improvement in incident response processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify suspicious behavior, indicators of compromise, and potential threats.
• Conduct in-depth incident investigations, including threat analysis, containment, and remediation efforts.
• Execute and improve incident response strategies, runbooks, and playbooks.
• Produce detailed incident reports, documentation, and after-action recommendations.
• Collaborate with CSOC team members, engineering groups, and other cybersecurity stakeholders to minimize risk.
• Leverage advanced security tools and threat intelligence to anticipate, detect, and mitigate emerging cyber threats.
• Support shift-work requirements including overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed by the CSOC operating model.
