The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and managing the day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our technology systems.

This role involves responding to technical queries, diagnosing software / hardware issues, deploying computer systems, and providing user support for various applications.

This position is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in systems administration looking to gain extensive hands-on experience.

Essential Functions

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Provide maintenance and support for Infrastructure and Security applications, systems, and tools.
  • Help monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
  • Identify repetitive tasks to be automated
  • Participate in the documentation of systems setup and contribute to developing IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist with data backup and system security operations (e.g., user authorizations, firewalls).
  • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software components.
  • Install, modify, configure, and repair computer hardware and software systems and components; run diagnostics to resolve problems.
  • Create user accounts, deploy end-user equipment, assign licenses, and support users across MS Office 365 and end-user devices environment(s).
  • Offer support for MS 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and multifactor authentication.
  • Handle deployment of phones, audiovisual setups, and manage cellphone plans and accounts.
  • Address printer issues, deploy computers, and ensure proper setup, backup, and cloning.
  • Write detailed procedures for resolving different types of technical issues.
  • Train users on basic computer operations and desktop applications.
  • Engage in continuously learning IT trends and best practices to improve skills and contribute effectively to the team.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Highly motivated and able to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Understanding of IT security principles.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud environments, networking systems, servers, databases, patch management, and other IT Infrastructure.
  • Experience with Windows 10, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with operating systems and environments such as Microsoft, Linux, macOS, Android, and IOS.
  • Knowledge of VoIP, UCaaS, or other phone systems & related technology.
  • Strong ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Experience in a systems administration role or similar (internships included).

Education and Experience Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar discipline.
  • At least two years of directly related experience, including some or all of the following : Service desk, end-user devices, servers, net+work, cloud, and IT security software and tools.
